The walls have ears

Stichting De Muren hebben Oren offers primary schools a six-week project focusing on (migration) history from 1940 to the present.
The cooperation between the two classes results in wonderful encounters.

The project takes an inclusive approach. The diversity in the city, which is also reflected in the classes, is the common thread.

We focus on all the important and defining moments that have shaped the history of our city since the Second World War. These include the Second World War in the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies, the arrival of migrants from the former colonies, the arrival of guest workers and later labour migrants and the arrival of refugees.

As a city dweller, you are part of the city and therefore part of its history. We give pupils of group 7 and 8 the opportunity to ask their own and other people’s families questions about this.
