Online instruction session for volunteers

“Sprekende geschiedenis” wants to make a link between different oral history collections. The aim is to make interviews searchable by the meaning that people give to the concept of freedom.

In order to make this content link, volunteers will work on analysing a total of around 200 interviews and labelling the fragments they have selected. The interviews are from the NIOD collection, the Netherlands Veterans Institute, the project ‘Ongekend Bijzonder‘ en een nog te bepalen Haagse interviewcollectie.

The work is done at home behind the computer. Each volunteer decides how many interviews to analyse and label.

On 14 January, an online instruction session will be held from 12.30 to 14.00. Then the volunteers who have registered will be given access to the interviews and explanations about the software and the order of work. “Speaking history” also offers a helpdesk for all practical and substantive questions.

Would you like to contribute to making various interview collections searchable in terms of content? And do you want to add depth to the current discussion on freedom?

Then register for this instruction session at info@sprekendegeschiedenis.nl
